Regional Triumphs for Girls Team

In the world of competitive swimming, every stroke, kick, and second count. Our swimmers know that and train to execute these key skills under pressure. The girls raced (and dove!) hard at Regionals and should be proud of their accomplishments!

Meet Highlights:
Paola Santiago raced to 9th place in the 500 Free with her time of 5:43.63
Emma Sizemore securing a time of 2:02.71 (6th) in the 200 Free and 5:26.30 (5th) in the 500 Free.
Haylee Shaffer’s 100 Breaststroke took 4th place finish, clocking in at an impressive 1:09.20.
Samantha Douds’ made waves in the 100 Backstroke, claiming the 6th place time of 1:03.23.
Lucy Clayton swam a 6:16.16 in her 500 Freestyle and 14th overall!
Kate Coffey took 15th in the 100 Free with a 1:01.71
Alexa Van De Boe dove a 379.25, a personal best.

In addition to the individual successes, the medley relay team consisting of Paola Santiago, Kate Coffey, Samantha Douds, and Haylee Shaffer took 5th place finish in the medley relay event with an impressive time of 1:56.82. The sprint relay of Santiago, Sizemore, Shaffer and Douds took 5th as well in a time of 1:45.90!

Behind these extraordinary performances lies hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of coaches, teammates, and families. The road to success in competitive swimming and diving isn’t an easy one, but it is a rewarding one. Every athlete on the team this season should be proud of the hard work they put in – two-a-day practices, long swim meets, and early Saturday mornings! Great job everyone!
